Protecting posts, pages & categories

When you create a post, page or category there are three options.

1) Create a normal post, page or category
By ignoring the Membership Plugin options displayed when creating content, you can create a post, page or category with normal wordpress accessibility. This means that anyone will be able to view it regardless of their membership level or account status.

2) Protect entire post, page or category
When creating content, you can select which  Membership Levels will be able to view it. The available Membership Levels are displayed as tick boxes to the right of the page when you are creating posts & pages, or to the bottom when you are creating a category. You can select as many membership levels as you want.

Note: Make sure that if you protect a category, you do not then protect the posts within that category for another membership level as it will then make it inaccessible to any users.

3) Protecting blocks of content
You can provide teasers to unregistered users by creating a post or page, making it available to guests and your target membership level and then wrapping [private] around the text you want hidden. This will instead show a customizable message to guests or members who are not logged in. Once the user has registered and is logged in, they will be able to see the hidden block of content. As an example, this text would be visible to everyone [private]while this text would be hidden[/private].
